Ongole: Prakasam district police on Monday paid rich tributes to the police martyrs from the district. The police organised a Smriti Parade at martyrs' memorial as part of the conclusion of the Police Commemoration Week and took out a rally in Ongole on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kaushal said the nation remembered the sacrifices of the police personnel.

He said every policeman pledged to work for the safety of the people. He announced that the Andhra Pradesh police were ahead of their counterparts in other States in upgrading their skills. The police had adapted technology to curb crimes.

The Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) B Sarath Babu read out the names of 292 police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty all over the country.

The SP and other guests presented prizes for to winners in painting competition for school children and essay writing competitions.

Later, the SP, DSPs and other 200 plus police personnel along with public took a rally from the district police office to RTC bus station hailing the services of the police martyrs.
