Police respond on attack on Perni Nani, says will probe whether accused has political motive

The murder attempt on state Information and Transport Minister Perni Nani has caused a stir in Andhra Pradesh. Nageswara Rao, a construction labour tried to attack the minister with a sharp Trowel. However, Nani escaped unhurt as the minister's followers immediately alerted and prevented him. CI Venkata Narayana disclosed the details of the attack on Minister Nani to the media. Speaking to media, on Sunday, Circle Inspector said that a man named Badugu Nageswara Rao from Chemmannagiri peta was involved in the attack.

Circle Inspector Venkata Narayana said the accused was taken into custody and is being interrogated and tracking tye crime history. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The minister said his followers had lodged a complaint against the accused and he was taken into custody. He said the matter was also being investigated in terms of whether the accused had links with political parties. Full details will be revealed soon.

The incident was happened while the minister is about greet the cadre who has attended the memorial service of his mother who died recently. The accused attempted to attack the minister twice but no danger happenned. However, the police are interrogating the case.
