Cops seize Rs 10 lakh worth cigarettes sold illegally in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: During the search operations, the Taskforce police seized Rs 10 lakh worth cigarettes in Vijayawada on Thursday. The cigarettes were being sold illegally here in the city.
Speaking to media, City CP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that four teams have participated in the search operations. He added that many cigarettes are being sold without any necessary permissions.
CP further said that they are not printing warning sign on the cigarette packets and selling such items is a criminal offense. He warned that strong actions would be taken against who involve in such an act.
