Potti Sreeramulu's sacrifices recalled

Bapatla: Deputy Speaker Kona Sasidhar garlanded the photos of 'Amarajeevi' Potti Sreeramulu and G Swami Sitaram. Rich tributes were paid to the Andhra leaders who had participated in Andhra movement.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged the gathering to draw inspiration from Potti Sreeramulu who sacrificed his life for separate state for Telugus. Director General of AP Human Resource Development Institute D Chakrapani said that Bapatla played a key role in separate Andhra movement.
'Forum for Better Bapatla' secretary PC Sai Babu presiding over the meeting, said Swami Sitaram, who belongs to this area, sat for fast unto death on 15th August 1951 for separate State. But after 10 days, he ended the fast with the intervention of Acharya Vinoba Bhave.
Town Hall secretary KST Sai, Bapatla Education Society academic adviser Dr K Vijaya Kumar, UV Rama Rao, R Anji Raju, B Subba Rao, Municipal Commissioner Sravan Kumar, MDO Radha Krishna, N Prakasha Rao, were among those present.
