Protect inland water base at Sivakodu: Collector D Muralidhar Reddy
Collector D Muralidhar Reddy called upon NH-216 authorities and Irrigation department officials to make all necessary efforts to protect inland water base at Sivakodu in Razole mandal in the district.
Razole (East Godavari): Collector D Muralidhar Reddy called upon NH-216 authorities and Irrigation department officials to make all necessary efforts to protect inland water base at Sivakodu in Razole mandal in the district. The Collector along with the Irrigation officials visited inland water base at Sivakodu in Razole mandal in view of NH 216 expansion works which run through Sivakodu irrigation locks on Wednesday.
In this connection, Irrigation officials narrated the Collector that the Sivakodu locks would be affected due to NH 216 alignment, which ultimately affects the interests of farmers of 17,000 acres in the area.
Speaking to media, the Collector said the NH 216 road expansion works have been taken up in four phases. The works in first two phases are going on smoothly, he said and added the phase 3 and 4 are facing some minor problems and they would be sorted out soon.
RDO Amalapuram BV Ramana, Irrigation CE Sridhar, SE Krishna Rao and revenue officials accompanied the Collector during his visit.
