Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to release water to the canals only after purification and to identify the areas where the canals need to be strengthened.

The Chief Minister reviewed the measures being taken to Mission Purification of the Krishna and Godavari canals and steps to eradicate pollution in the canals, at Secretariat on Wednesday.

He directed the officials to identify places where purification centres have to be set up on the course of the canals. He said he would personally oversee the implementation of the purification process.
