Rajamahendravaram: The Grand City of Culture is getting facelift on all fronts by January 2021. As part of it, many development works are under progress with the initiative of MP Margani Bharat Ram.

The Municipal Corporation is developing important junctions and has taken up expansion of roads, construction of dividers, drains, central lighting etc. The MP requested Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to sanction Rs 200 crore as special fund.

Works related to dividers along with central lighting on the roads between Quarry centre and Lalachervu, Lalachervu and Kambala tank, AVA road, Tilak road, Tadithota centre to RTC, SKR college road, Jawaharlal Nehru road, etc are under progress. Expansion of Korukonda road and Ava road is also underway.

Meanwhile, Government College junction, Kambala tank junction, NandamGaniraju centre, Tadithota centre, VL Puram junction,Pushkar Ghat area, Fortgate, mainroad, railway station road, renovation of PV Narasimha Rao park on Godavari bund along with other parks in the city, multilevel parking at Pushkar Ghat, are also being developed.

The football stadium, cricket stadium at the government college grounds or Nannaya University campus are also coming up in the city.

Speaking to 'The Hans India' here on Thursday, MP Margani Bharat Ram said that the city will be developed on all fronts based on 15 points. As Rajamahendravaram is becoming district headquarters, development of the city is inevitable and moreover, the city became hub for medical, education and business sectors etc. All the works will be completed by January 2021.
