Rajamahendravaram: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna said that a round-table conference with all parties would be held in Guntur on November 30 to discuss Polavaram irrigation project.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Ramakrishna said all parties should work together to realise the project, which was the lifeline of the state.

"Union ministry of finance is saying that they can give Rs 20,398 crore for the completion of the project. The cost of the project was reduced to Rs 47,725 crore through reverse tendering as against of Rs 55,656 crore of 2017--2018 estimations. The state government is not mounting pressure on the Central government in this regard and the state is in a dangerous position. The YSRCP government is also diluting the Amaravathi capital issue," he said.

The CPI state secretary said the party along with other parties would continue its agitation until the completion of the project and alleged that the police had violated the rules in arresting CPI leaders during Polavaram Parirkashana Yatra.
