The Endowments department has asked officials to collect the details of temples under the control of department and private managements in East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts
Rajamahendravaram: The Endowments department has asked officials to collect the details of temples under the control of department and private managements in East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts.
Endowments department Deputy Commissioner M Vijaya Raju (zone-2) directed the assistant commissioners of three districts to get the reports in 48 hours.
In the wake of serious attacks on temples, the department took the decision to collect the details of the temples. The details including road side, canal side and river side temples along with the particulars of deities, phone numbers and names of respective trust board members, village secretaries, officials of police, revenue and Anganwadi etc should be submitted.
Moreover, the department also advised officials to collect the information about the availability of closed circuit cameras and about their functioning, if not the reason for not arranging the cameras in the respective temples.
Special officers are also appointed in this regard at Amalapuram, Rajamahendravaram, Pithapuram, Ramachandrapuram, Gandepalli, Tallarevu, Peddapuram, Anaparthi and Kakinada areas.
Simultaneously, the department is also verifying the security arrangements at the temples. After getting information, the deputy commissioners will send it to the government.
