Amaravati: More than Rs 58 crore saved through reverse tendering, observed minister for water resources Anil Kumar Yadav in a press conference at Tadepalli in Guntur district on Saturday.

He said that the same Max infra company agreed to construct the same project with 15 per cent less than the previous expenditure.

Reacting on criticism on reverse tendering, he said that with this single project, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has proved the benefits of this innovative initiative.

Anil Kumar further blamed that TDP government gave every project with more than Rs 1000 crore with 4 per cent excess.

He said that the Navayuga Engineering Company, which was terminated from the Polavaram contracts also could participate and get the works again under the reverse tendering.

He questioned that when the contracts are giving with lesser than estimated expenditure, then how could the TDP argue that the reverse tendering procedure would delay and increase expenditure?

Reacting on notices served to Chandrababu Naidu's rented residence at Undavalli, he said that the government has served notices to the owner Lingamaneni but not to TDP president. Since Chandrababu Naidu is just a tenant, he just has to left the house and Lingamaneni has to appear and speak with the authorities.

But why does Chandrababu Naidu is showing over-enthusiasm in it? he asked. He further suspected that did Chandrababu Naidu buy the house from Lingamaneni!
