The election commission transferred Praveen on repeated allegations by the YSR Congress party leaders that he is acting on bias towards Telugu Desam party and targeting the YSRCP leaders. On Tuesday afternoon, the Chirala police tried to stop a meeting in local YSRCP MLA candidate Amanchi Krishna Mohan's house claiming that they do not have election commission's permission. The sitting MLA and police went into verbal dual and the CI Prasad booked a case against Krishna Mohan that he obstructed the duties of the public servant. Krishna Mohan warned the police that he is going to make another complaint on the police to the election commission. By night, the election commission transferred the SP Praveen, who took charge about just 40 days ago.

Siddharth Kaushal, a 2012 IPS officer and a hobby body builder worked as the Parvatipuram ASP, Narsipatnam OSD and is relieved from the responsibilities of Railway SP at Guntakal. He is also a member of special investigation team that the AP government has established to investigate a case alleging a conspiracy by YSRCP and Telangana police to steal the data of TDP workers and deletion of their votes from electoral rolls.

After taking the charge, Siddharth said that his only priority right now is conducting the election peacefully and in a fair manner. He said that as the election is tomorrow, the forces are already deployed and all arrangements are made in place and he will ensure that there will be no unforeseen incidents. He said that he is going to review the conditions in the district with his colleagues and take appropriate action. He requested cooperation from the public, media, and all personnel from the departments to conduct and deliver peaceful and fair elections in the district.
