Guntur :Former agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy accused the YSRCP government of maintaining double standards in extending helping hand to the farmers. Speaking to reporters in TDP state office here on Thursday, he said that the TDP government issued GO No. 38 for releasing funds for implementing fourth and fifth installments of Debt Redemption Scheme for farmers who had taken crops loans from the banks.

He recalled that the TDP had decided to implement the scheme in five installments but due to Election Commission norms the fourth and fifth installments were not credited to the farmers' bank accounts.

He said the YSRCP government cancelled GO No 38 to avoid release of funds for those two installments and thus cheated the farmers. He recalled that YSRCP government earlier said it was committed to the Debt Redemption Scheme but now changed its stand.
