Somireddy seeks clarity from govt on payment details in Nellore
Former Minister and TDP politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy asked whether the YSR Congress government is going to pay Rs 12,500 to the farmers including the support of Rs 6,000 extended by the Centre or paying the entire amount from its own resources.
Nellore: Former Minister and TDP politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy asked whether the YSR Congress government is going to pay Rs 12,500 to the farmers including the support of Rs 6,000 extended by the Centre or paying the entire amount from its own resources.
He addressed the media on Friday and said they had paid Rs 4,000 to the farmers earlier and questioned the strategy of the YSRCP government. 'We have paid Rs 15,000 to the farmers under Annadatha Sukhibava which includes the support of Rs 6,000 from the Centre.
The Centre had announced support to the farmers who are having less than 5 acres of land for getting benefits under the scheme. But, the TDP government had provided an additional amount of Rs 10,000 to the farmers who are having even more than 5 acres of land during its regime," said Chandramohan Reddy.
He also alleged that the State has gone backwards in the growth rate from April up to now due to decisions of Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and asked the State government to clarify how much it is going to pay to the farmers under Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The State government has discontinued the construction of the prestigious Polavaram Project, he added. He also said that the Centre has released funds for the material component under NREGS in three phases, but the State government had not released 25 per cent of matching grant till now. Chandramohan Reddy lamented that the contractors who had taken up small works have been facing severe difficulties with the decisions of the government.
Further, TDP district president B Ravichandra, former minister N Amaranatha Reddy and former Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz reviewed the arrangements for the visit of TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on October 14.
