District Superintendent Police KVVN Anburajan has said in view of the intensity of red sander smuggling in the district, the police administration has formed special teams in every mandal to prevent illegal transportation of precious wood.

Speaking to media persons after inspecting police station at Badvel on Friday he said that police department initiating several measures to meet red sander smuggling menace like establishing check posts, imposing PD Act on the smugglers Cordon and search, Naka Bandhi, and now going ahead with another initiative by forming special teams for this particular purpose.
He said the newly formed special teams would work along with forest department, and task force in combing operations and raids in the forest apart from their regular duties. Police officers were present.
