Amaravati: TDP Spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhi on Sunday accused the YSRCP Government of covering up the postmortem reports and the local police investigation in order to save the accused in the Nandyal joint family suicide case.

Pattabhi deplored that the police authorities rushed through the case by conducting night time postmortems in violation of the rules and without taking prior permission. There were no facilities at Nandyal hospital for night time postmortems.

Addressing a press conference here, Pattabhi said that in just three and half hours, the postmortems on all the four bodies of Abdul Salaam family were completed. It happened between 6 pm and 9.30 pm. Usually, postmortem on a single body would take three to four hours. There were many suspicions on the manner in the police tried to cover up the suicide case like this.

The TDP leader demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation should probe the Nandyal suicide case to bring out the facts. Even after 12 of the incident, the YSRCP Government was not taking any action to ensure justice to the Salaam family. Moreover, the government behaved disrespectfully in conducting the last rites for the deceased. No proper Muslim burials were made.

Pattabhi deplored that midnight burial rites were conducted. Two bodies each were buried together. The Salaam family was humiliated both before and after their death. On November 3, Salaam's mother in law gave a missing complaint to the Nandyal police but they didn't take action till November 8 when the railway police transferred the case.

The TDP leader accused the ruling YSRCP leaders and followers of MLA Silpa Kishore Reddy of giving sureties for securing the bail for the CI and the Head Constable who were responsible for the suicides.
