TDP demands payment of input subsidy to farmers

Narasaraopet: TDP leaders of Narasaraopet Assembly constituency on Thursday protested at the collectorate in Narasaraopet demanding the government to pay input subsidy to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to Cyclone Michaung.

Addressing a gathering, TDP Narasaraopet Assembly constituency in-charge Dr Chadalavada Aravinda Babu said paddy, chilli, cotton, sugarcane and other horticulture crops were damaged.

As a result, farmers suffered heavy losses. He demanded the government to release the input subsidy to the farmers immediately to cultivate new crops and warned that if the government failed to do so, they will intensify their agitation.
