Former mayor of Kurnool Municipal Corporation and senior Telugu Desam Party leader, Bangi Ananthaiah attempted to commit suicide by hanging at his Budwara Peta residence on Wednesday. The family member immediately rushed him to Kurnool Government General Hospital for treatment.

According to information, Bangi Anantaiah is facing humiliation from some party leaders. In addition to the humiliation he is also facing a financial crisis. Unable to cope with the problems, Bangi Anantaiah was known to have taken the final plunge.

Bangi Anantaiah is said to be an active leader who used to counter-attack on the opposition party leaders and has a special significance among other party leaders. His uniqueness would be an eye-catching to all at times of Dharnas and protests staged in front of collectorates.

Bangi is presently under doctor's care at the government hospital. His health condition is said to be stable.

On learning about the suicide attempt of Bangi several party leaders rushed to the hospital and expressed their solidarity. They also enquired the reasons behind taking the extreme step with his family members. More information is yet to be disclosed.
