The former CM and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the YSRCP government for calling Chalo Atmakur, on Tuesday in a press conference in Guntur.
Amaravati: The former CM and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the YSRCP government for calling Chalo Atmakur, on Tuesday in a press conference in Guntur. He said that the YSRCP is organizing this Chalo Atmakur programme as a counter to his earlier call to visit the same village located in Palnadu region of Guntur district, about 100 to 110 Kms away from the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's residence in the Amaravati capital city.
On this occasion, he said that the TDP's Atmakur visit programme will be continued at any cost. He suggested the police to join with TDP to visit the Village instead of preventing it from entering the village. He also demanded that how could the police ensure confidence among the public, when the department utterly failed from the last three and a half months.
While demanding the state government and police department to do justice to the victimized TDP cadre across the state, he released two books. One book is on the attacks on the TDP leaders and cadre, with detailed case reports and the second book is on Atmakur programme.
He said that at least 565 attacks took place in the state against the TDP followers during the last 110 days of YSRCP ruling. That including 10 political murders and illegal cases, damaging properties and others. In Guntur district itself, 131 attacks happened. He listed out that 112 in Anantapur, and 30 to 40 in each district across 11 districts.
In addition to that, the YSRCP government did not allow TDP cadre to lodge cases against the ruling party leaders who were there behind all the attacks and harassment. Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the Home Minister M Sucharita for terming the victims in the TDP established rehabilitation centre as paid artists. Instead of doing justice to the victims, the Jagan government has been insulting them, he blamed. He demanded an unconditional apology from Sucharita to the victims.
He stated that the Chief Minister did not even speak a word when 546 families left the Atmakur village due to the threat from YSRCP leaders.
Wondering on the police reaction towards the number of cases listed in the Palnadu region, Chandrababu Naidu ridiculed that how could police question the governance of previous government? Is it the duty of police? He asked the DGP Goutam Sawang to respond on it in a proper manner. Expressing confidence in the police, he said that TDP was only demanding justice to the victims and that would be the duty of them.
Reacting on the wall constructed on a road by YSRCP cadre at Ponugupadu village in Guntur district, Chandrababu Naidu blamed that the Home Minister was unable to remove it. He termed it as an insult to the governance of the YSRCP.
