Tight security in place for CM Ongole visit

Ongole: Prakasam district SP Siddharth Kaushal reviewed the security arrangements for the Chief Minister's tour to Ongole to launch the Nadu-Nedu programme on Thursday, and shared his suggestions with the police personnel at a meeting here on Wednesday.

The SP announced that around 1,500 police personnel including one additional SP, 11 DSPs, 40 CIs and RIs(reserved inspectors), 119 SIs, 279 ASIs and head constables, 671 civil police constables, 301 armed reserve police personnel are being used in the security for the Chief Minister's tour.

He ordered the junior investigation constables to be responsible for duty and see the district police receive accolades for the security arrangements.

He said that they were expecting about 20000 people to attend the programme and requested the people to make sure no inconvenience is caused to the children and students.

Siddarth Kaushal announced that as part of the traffic regulation, they were restricting the movement of vehicles on Anjaiah Road till the Chief Minister returns from the town and advised the people to utilise Kurnool road and Mangamoor road. He said only school buses coming from Chimakurthy onto the Anjaiah road would be allowed, but the road would be completely blocked one hour before the arrival of the Chief Minister.

He advised the buses coming from Kandukur side to go to the parking place opposite AKVK College through Mangamoor road, Rythu Bazaar, Gandhi Park. He said that the VIP parking is allotted at the Chakalikunta on the right side of the meeting venue while the new shadikhana and the ground beside it are allotted for the general parking. The SP also made a trial run of the convoy in the scheduled route of the Chief Minister's convoy and made necessary suggestions to the staff on duty.
