According to Acharya Rajagopalan, Secretary of HDPP and Special Officer of TTDs Alwar Divya Prabandam Project, the Nalayira Divya Prabandam is also popular as "Dravida Vedam" comprising of 4,000 pasuras composed by 12 Alwars (Vaishnavite seers) in the Eighth century.
