Tirupati: Coronavirus positive cases in Chittoor district have reached 268 on Friday with the addition of eight new cases. Among the new cases four cases were attributed to Koyambedu links while one each linked to Ajmer, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad and Maharashtra. There are five females among these cases.
This has taken the number of active cases to 83 with five patients get discharged after their recovery on Friday. Thus, the total discharges have gone up to 184 while one patient has dead so far. Covid-19 nodal officer Dr S Subba Rao and Dy CSRMO Dr EB Devi handed over discharge summaries to the five patients.
Till now 28,219 samples were collected in the district out of which 28015 results have been released with 204 results are awaited.
