Vijayawada: District Collector Md Imtiaz here on Saturday flagged off Himsagar Express with advertisements on train coaches regarding the voter awareness. He interacted with the denizens and urged them to cast their vote without fail.

The train has vinyl wrappings urging citizens above 18 years to cast their vote and become a part of country's democracy. The Himsagar Express is a weekly train which covers 3,714 km in 12 states in 71 hours and has 69 stops. The train stops at stations and transverses through major state capitals such as Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Nizamuddin in New Delhi and Jammu Tawi among others.

Imtiaz said that youth who have attained the age of 18 should register their votes and should cast their vote. Voting is the right given by the Constitution of India to the Indian citizens and everyone should feel the responsibility to cast their vote.

He said that for a better society, state and country the people should elect a good leader by casting their vote. The youth should take active participation in electing a good leader for the development of the nation. The citizens clicked selfies with slogans and officials of railways, students and others participated in this programme.
