However, despite the adverse conditions in the wake of covid, the government has decided to make the pushkaralu a success by conducting them in a traditional and scientific manner without any fanfare while respecting the sentiments of the devotees. All arrangements have been made with special care to ensure that the pushkaralu for 12 years are solidly maintained.

Arrangements have been made for the festival in Mantralayam, Emmiganuru, Nandikotkur, Kodumuru and Kurnool constituencies in the district. From today till December, Tungabhadra Pushkaralu will be organized for 12 days. Five thousand police have been deployed. The swimmers were made available exclusively at the ghats.

CM Jagan was accompanied by Ministers Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Vellampalli Srinivas, Gummanuru Jayaram, Collector Veerapandian, SP Fakkirappa, MLAs Hafeez Khan, Kangati Sridevi, Katsani Rambhupal Reddy, Sudhakar and Toguru Arthur.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy appeared in traditional manner wearing Pancha instead pant and also wore a mask. Jagan Mohan Reddy offered prayers to River Tungabhadra and officially inaugurated the 12 days Pushkaralu by giving haarathi to River Tungabhadra.
