In a horrific incident, two persons who tried to overtake two wheeler vehicle had died after they rammed into a lorry coming opposite in Guthi of Anantapur district. The details are as stated by the police. Diddekunta Roshi Reddy (64), a lorry owner from Bhogalakatta village in Yadiki mandal, along with Narayana Reddy (40) from Nagaroor went on a two-wheeler to a friend's house at Bachupalli Bata Sunkulamma temple in Guthi mandal on Sunday to participate in a fair.

However, while returning from the fair, the duo who tried to overtake vehicle rammed into a lorry carrying polished boulders on National Highway 67 in the suburb of Engilibanda in Guthi zone, which led to explosion of bike's petrol tank. At the same time, the flames spread in a matter of seconds due to the frictional flames. The lorry driver, who sensed the accident, jumped and fled. Roshi Reddy and Narayana Reddy were trapped under the lorry and burnt alive. Roshid Reddy is survived by his wife Savitrama, two sons while Narayana Reddy survived with wife Kullayamma, a son and a daughter.

However, a major accident was averted as there was a petrol pump at 20 feet away from the accident site. Later, the flames were put off by fire engine. SI Ramu and Gopal inspected the spot and registered a case.
