The Union Bank of India of India (Vijayawada Branch) has conducted the ‘Centenary Walkhaton’ here on Sunday on the occasion of completing 100 years of service to the nation.

Vijayawada : The Union Bank of India of India (Vijayawada Branch) has conducted the 'Centenary Walkhaton' here on Sunday on the occasion of completing 100 years of service to the nation.

The present employees, retired employees, customers and service providers participated in the Walkhaton very enthusiastically. It was flagged off by the Deputy General Manager Kosaraju Ravindranath from the UBI's regional office at 7.30 AM. More than 300 people took part in the run.

The walkhaton started form Mughalarajapuram and passed thorugh Bishop Azaraiah school, Museum Road and finally ended at the Mugholarajapuram again. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ravindranath said that the bank, which was established in November, 1919 was doing business worth Rs 750,000 crore and thanked the stakeholders and customers. The Union Bank of India will organise a blood donation camp on Monday.
