Vijayawada: Prof V Sambasiva Rao, president, NIIT University, Nimrana, New Delhi said there would be a rapid development in technology and skills should be updated in the present knowledge era.

Addressing the students at a programme organised by Narayana School on Thursday, Prof Rao said Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have a good scope in getting jobs. There is a misconception that with these latest developments people would lose their jobs which is not correct but highly paid jobs will be offered to candidates with creative ideas. He said that only with continuous learning and practice one can be successful in getting such highly paid jobs.

He said Cyber Security is other emerging field where they need cyber analyst professionals in the days to come. He further said that for the knowledge era, data is the raw material and there will be millions of jobs available for professionals in Data Science, Big Data Engineering, Data Analytics for data analysing.

He said that Cloud Computing is another emerging field to store data in a systematic and organised way with security. Robotics is also catching up these days. In the present scenario, the employer will test candidates on team work, interpersonal skills, cooperation, attitude, presentation skills, soft skills, collaboration and learnability skills, problem solving ability for ill defined problems, he said and added good communication skills, higher order analytical skills, creativity, liberal arts education is important for a holistic person.
