Vijayawada: Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, lashed out at TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu for observing one day Deeksha protesting against the failure of the government to solve the sand scarcity in the state.
He also expressed his intention to go along with Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Launching a scathing attack on Naidu at a press conference in Gannavaram on Thursday, Vamsi said that the former chief minister became intolerant after losing power and started Deeksha against the YSRCP government just within five months of new government came into power.
He said the people of Andhra Pradesh gave a clear mandate in favour of YSRCP and it would take some time to solve the problems. "Naidu is not a position to play the role of Opposition leader in the state with his unilateral decisions," he maintained.
The TDP MLA asked when the TDP government implemented the loan waiver to farmers and self-help groups in the state in the previous rule.
He said the YSRCP government is facing many difficulties to excavate sand due to heavy floods. He suggested to Naidu to show the technology that can be used to excavate sand during floods also.
He said he would join YSRCP and like to work with Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for the development of his constituency. "I have made some assurances to the people of my constituency and I have to fulfil them," he said.
When asked he would resign from the post of MLA and re-contest the elections, Vamsi said that he would resign if necessary.
He said that he would support the state government on English medium education and questioned what is wrong with the English medium education. He said we have to support any government if the policies are good.
He said the TDP has never contested the polls alone after the demise of NT Rama Rao. He said, "The TDP is losing the confidence of the people because it frequently changes alliances'.
He said the TDP had alliance with Left parties, TRS, BJP, Jana Sena and reminded that the party lost elections in 2004, 2009 and 2019.
