Vasireddy Padma demands stern action against Tamil director Bhagyaraj for his insensitive comments on women

Tamil film director and actor Bhagyaraj is a stalwart in Tamil Nadu and Kollywood. Women's groups have criticised Bhagyara over his insensitive comments on women. Vasireddy Padma, the chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Women's Commission, also expressed outrage at Bhagyaraj's remarks.

She wrote to the Tamil Nadu Women's Commission seeking strict action against Bhagya Raja for making such comments on women. "Is it not humane to speak of women being mistaken in rape incidents," She said. She fired at celebrities who are demeaning women and supporting the atrocities, while governments, women's agencies, the police and the judiciary are trying to do their best to stop violence against women.

Speaking at a cinema event about the rape case of Tamil Nadu in the recent past, Bagyaraj said that it is not the fault of men and claimed that women are also responsible for rape and harassment. Bhagyaraj has made a furious controversy over the abuse of the girl in the Pollachi case.
