Vijayawada: Civic chief inspects several areas

Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh made a field level inspection of various places in the city on Tuesday. The commissioner visited Kunda Vari Kandrika, Ajitsingh Nagar, Mutyalampadu, Kotha Vantana centre, Moghalrajapuram and other places.

On receiving complaints that drain water was flowing on the roads and entering into the houses at Kanbdrika, the commissioner observed that it was low-lying area and silt was obstructing the drain flow besides encroachments.

The commissioner instructed the concerned engineer and the health officials to take measures in clearing the silt and see that the drain water flow without any obstruction. The residents complained that mosquito menace was high.

The commissioner instructed the concerned officials to conduct anti-larvicide operation immediately. The commissioner visited Nuzvid road and instructed the officials to increase the height of central divider and develop greenery. Later, the Commissioner visited the multistoried constriction at Moghalrajapuram, and said the building construction material like cement, sand and others should not be dumped on the roads creating inconvenience to the public.

Chief medical officer in-charge Dr Madhusudan Prasad, executive engineer ASN Prasad, town planning and health officials were present.
