A high alert was announced by District Collector Imtiaz in Vijayawada following the coronavirus case registered in the city. The district machinery was alerted and held a meeting with top officials of district. The meeting was attended by Joint Collector Madhavi Latha, Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh and DCP Vikrant Patil. With the coronavirus positive case, a high alert has been announced in the respective areas and a positive case is scheduled for examination in the victim area.

The Vijayawada Pandit Nehru bus stand has appeared empty in the wake of the Janata curfew. All RTC bus services from midnight to far away places have been stopped. Bus services across Vijayawada and Krishna district were canceled from 6 am to 9 pm on Sunday. The AP government has taken this decision to ensure that all passengers are vigilant to avoid the coronavirus infection.

On the other hand, despite the shutdown of the majority of the shops as a part of the Janata Curfew on Sunday in Vijayawada, people in the city thronged few meat shops to buy the chicken and mutton in the morning hours.

The officials of Municipal Corporation carried raids at some meat shops and fish markets and shut down the shops, which were opened.
