Vijayawada: Election officials urged to be on high alert

Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector Mohammad Imtiaz has asked the officials concerned to be on high alert and discharge the duties as per the norms without fail. The officials should feel proud to participate in the election process and fulfill their duties with dedication from the filing of nominations till the announcement of results.

He presided over a training programme conducted for the district officers arranged at a function hall in Governorpet on Tuesday. He said the officials participating in the election duty must read the norms and discharge their duties. He said it is for the staff to discharge duties when they clearly understand the rules and guidelines related to the elections.

Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh asked the officials to submit the details related to the officials in the stipulated time. He asked them to be on high alert while withdrawing of nominations by candidates, rejection of nominations, scrutiny of nominations. He asked them to read the nomination papers two or three times and consult the senior officers if they have doubt. Joint Collector-2 K Mohan Kumar and other officials were present in the training programme.
