Vijayawada: Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy lays stress on reviving growth in State
Minister for Industries, IT and Skill Development M Goutham Reddy, who visited the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Vijayawada: Minister for Industries, IT and Skill Development M Goutham Reddy, who visited the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad on Wednesday. urged the ISB to come up with a governance model to create a synchronous functioning of departments of development.
The Minister was interacting with professors and discuss strategies to revive economic growth in the State and come up with a long-term roadmap for sustainable development in the State through data-driven policymaking.
Speaking at the meeting, the Minister expressed keenness to see a seamless functioning of various departments towards development and also stressed the need to work together on creating jobs where the labour is, creating quality management structure in government, skill gaps among others.
The Minister also mentioned that an advisory council on development of Andhra Pradesh will be formed with ISB as a nodal agency. Key areas of engagement were identified to be taken up as 'project mode' include synchronous functioning of departments of development, Andhra Pradesh Pulse, which is an advanced data analytics application using near real-time digital data on citizen interactions with government schemes and systems, attracting investments, matching skills to jobs among others.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof Ashwini Chhatre, ISB's associate professor of Public Policy, said: "ISB faculty and students are delighted to collaborate with AP Government on the agenda of inclusive and sustainable development through the JumpStartIndia@ISB initiative. We applaud the spirit of openness and collaboration, and pledge to support the Government of Andhra Pradesh to the fullest extent possible."
The others who participated in the meeting include Prof Bhagwan Chowdhry, Professor of Finance and Executive Director of ISB, Prof Chandrashekhar Sripada, clinical professor of ISB, DNV Kumara Guru, Director External Relations of ISB, Sundeep Jammalamada, Associate Director of ISB, Dr Sridhar Bhagavatula, senior manager of ISB.
