Vijayawada: Road tenders for Judicial Preview

Vijayawada: The State government accorded administrative sanction for calling the tenders for the proposed development of the State Highways and major district roads in the phase-1 works to be undertaken in 12 districts of the State with an assistance of Rs 2,978.51 crore from the New Development Bank.

The invited tenders were sent to the Judicial Preview headed by Justice Dr B Sivasankar Rao for scrutiny, said Nayeemullah, chief engineer of the R&B in a statement here on Friday.

It may be recalled that the State government appointed Judicial Preview to scrutinise all the works which cost more than Rs 100 crore in an attempt to achieve transparency in the tender process.

The tenders were placed in the official website of the Judicial Preview www.judicialpreview.ap.gov.in seeking suggestions and objections from the contractors and general public. The tenders would be on the website from May 28 to June 5 for the convenience of the public who may forward their suggestions on the website.

The tenders would be called for after receiving objections and works would be allotted subsequently, the Chief Engineer said.
