“The short film concept has become very popular nowadays throughout Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Vijayawada.
Vijayawada : (NTR District) "The short film concept has become very popular nowadays throughout Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Vijayawada. Earlier, the city-based Telugu Short Film Association used to conduct short films competitions to encourage young short film makers.
These competitions have created a passion among the youth and about 500 short film makers are in Andhra Pradesh and they are producing short films with social awareness concepts. Every year we are conducting the competitions and this year also scheduled to be conducted in August," said BKNS Prasad, State President of Telugu Short Film Association. The city-based short film makers like PMM Kavi, Nandivada Guru Gopinath, Krishna Teja, Suryadevara Jagannadharao, Prem and others have produced many thought-provoking films and they were screened on YouTube.
Recently, a short film 'Manoranjan' directed by PRP Krishna Teja has won award at 11th Bangalore shorts film festival 2022. The short film also fetched 'special festival mention' in the production category. PRP Krishna Teja and Sahasra acted in main roles in 'Manoranjan'.
