As the Visakha Indira Gandhi 65th Wildlife Conservation Weekend at Zoo Park come to an end, tourism Minister Avanti Srinivasarao and Anakapalli MLA Gudivada Amarnath were present at the event. They have launched the elephant care center which will be constructed with 70 lakh funds. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Wildlife Conservation Weekend he said, Visakha Zoo is said to be a tourist spot for visitors and it is very close to the city.

He also said, the World Bank-funded project is already in the process of development, and will speak to CM in the coming days to develop the zoopark. The Minister called on all stakeholders to participate in the project of planting seedlings in Visakha as part of the environmental balance.

Later, Anakapalli MLA Gudivada Amarnath said, "Visakha Zoo is unique in the country. It is a natural zoo on 625 acres. The last government tried to evacuate Visakha Zoo after the Hudhud Cyclone. But we will fully develop the Vishaka Zoo, "he added. CPF Rahulpande, Incharge Collector Sivashankar, former MLA Malla Vijayaprasad, KK Raju, zoo curator Yashodha Bai and others were present.
