Visakhapatnam: Anakapalle MLA and YSRC spokesperson Gudivada Amarnath wondered how the mainstream media channels and newspapers could write that people in 200 cities were protesting to express their solidarity with the farmers of Amaravati, the present capital city of Andhra Pradesh, supporting the TDP and wanted to know the real intention behind it.

Addressing media here on Saturday, the MLA said at a time when Visakhapatnam district and North Andhra region are set to derive benefit of becoming the executive capital, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the malicious intention of the Opposition party is unfortunate.

Even if the agitation in Amaravati is considered a movement, it doesn't attach any values but confined to a mere publicity stunt, Amarnath pointed out.

"The TDP is projecting Amaravati farmers' agitation as a global issue. Instead of working for the development of the state, the TDP is bent upon viewing it as the real estate issue. While the CM is striving hard for the decentralised development, Naidu is trying to obstruct the same," Amarnath elaborated.

He also took objection to the CPI extending its support to the TDP in Amaravati issue. He mentioned that CM's sole focus was to develop the state on all fronts despite the hurdles that come across.
