Vundavalli Arun Kumar questions CM YS Jagan's silence on Polavaram funds
Expresses surprise over the YSRCP govt not mounting pressure on the Centre govt despite AP getting raw deal
Rajamahendravaram: Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar demanded the government to publish a white paper on Polavaram project to tell facts to the people.
Speaking to reporters at Book Bank here on Saturday, Arun Kumar said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was not mounting pressure on BJP government though despite it meting out injustice to Polavaram project.
"The people voted YSRCP into power with a belief that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will get Special Category Status and sufficient funds for Polavaram Project. But the BJP government at the Centre is not implementing the promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, and cheating the state. The Central government should pay the entire cost of Rs 55,548 crore including relief and rehabilitation package of the project," he said.
He further said that Andhra Pradesh would stand in first position in Asia if Polavaram project was completed. It is the duty of the Central government to bear the entire construction cost, as it is a national project, he said.
