The Ramesh Sanghamitra Hospital in Ongole organised a 5K walk from the district police parade grounds to the hospital in which around 1500 people including the members from Lions Club of Ongole Citizens, Indian Red Cross, IOC, BMC, Ongole Walkers Association, RIMS Medical and Nursing students, police personnel along with the students from various colleges and common people have also joined them.

The AR DSP Akula Raghavendra Rao, Ongole DSP KVVNV Prasad, DMHO Dr. B Vinod Kumar and others participated as the chief guests in the program. The senior cardiologists from the Ramesh Sanghamitra Hospital, Dr. V Senthil Kumar, Dr. B Nagamuni, Dr. G Sudheer, Dr. Vamsi Krishna, hospital marketing manager LV Rajendra Kumar, Lions Club of Ongole Citizen president Dr. Shaik Nyamatulla Basha and others explained that public about the importance of regular exercise and walking and created awareness about heart diseases and how the risk could be minimized by following healthy habits.

The hospital managing director Dr. D Tirumala Reddy thanked the district SP Siddharth Kaushal and other guests and participants for making the event a great success.

On the part of the town, the KIMS Hospital in Ongole also organised a 3K walk in the town from the district collectorate to Kurnool road flyover and the town DSP KVVNV Prasad inaugurated it.

The hospital general manager S Murthy, medical superintendent Dr Venkateswarlu, senior cardiologists and surgeons Dr Sridhar, Dr Sai Chaitanya Krishna, Dr Ramesh, Dr Ramakrishna, and others explained the participants about the importance of having a healthy heart and how to keep it fit always. The hospital staff, nursing students, students from various colleges also participated in the programme.
