Warangal: Azmeera accuses Adilabad MP of flaring up Adivasi-Lambada rift

Warangal: TRS leader and former MP Azmeera Seetaram Naik has come down heavily on Adilabad BJP MP Soyam Bapu Rao accusing him of stoking up animosity between the Lambadas and Adivasis.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, he said Bapu Rao was trying to flare up Adivasi community to threaten and attack the Lambadas which is uncalled-for. "The Lambadas have been included in the Scheduled Tribes (STs) by virtue of their position and backdrop undisputedly. Neither Bapu Rao nor any other deny the safeguard provided by the Indian Constitution to the Lambadas," Naik said.
Bapu Rao has been saying that he was born to remove Lambadas from ST Warangal,Warangal news,Warangal latest news,Warangal news live,Warangal news today, today news Warangal,MP Azmeera Seetaram Naik ,Adivasi-Lambada rift,Azmeera accuses Adilabad MP of flaring up Adivasi-Lambada rift,Warangal
category list, he alleged, accusing the MP of trying to throttle the voice of the Lambadas by hook or crook. Naik questioned Bapu Rao's rationale behind targeting the Lambadas who constitute 64 per cent of total STs in Telangana.
"Instead of creating animosity among the tribes, the Adillaad MP needs to strive for more provisions for the STs. We can sit and iron out the difference or misconceptions if anyone has doubts about the inclusion of Lambadas in the STs," Naik said.
Bapu Rao who had never raised the issue of Bayyaram Steel Plant, an assurance given to Telangana under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, in Parliament, which would have helped thousands of Adivasis in Mahabubabad district, had no moral right to oppose the ST status to the Lambadas, Naik said.
He demanded the police to arrest Bapu Rao for his instigating speeches to trigger violence against the Lambadas. N S Naik (All India Banjara), S Rathod (LHPS), V Veeranna Naik, A Shyamal and A Krishnaveni were among others present.
