Vijayawada: As part of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak on November 12, various programmes were being held by Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha since November 3, said its members Tasmith Singh Gujral and Kanvarjoth Singh.

Addressing the media at Guru Nanak Nagar Gurudwara here on Tuesday, they said as per Guru Nanakji, all religions are the same and should spread love towards one another. As part of the week long programme, on November 8, 'Guru Grandh Phatana Khand Path' programme will commence and will continue for 48 hours and conclude on November 10 evening.

The guest of the concluding day will be Sandeep Singh and Joga Singh from Amritsar, Nagara Sankirthana programme will be held on the occasion. Kirpans will be demonstrated along with Sikhs traditional songs. Food will be distributed at various places in the city on the occasion by about 1000 Sikh and Sindhi community people, they said.

They further said that Nagara Sankirtana will be held on November 10 starting from Sahini Complex, Autonagar by 7 am and will proceed through various places and reach Gurudwara by 10.

On November 11, special puja will be held at One-Town Gurudwara and on November 12 on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, special pujas and bhajans will be organised from 9 am to 1 pm.

On the same day at 6 pm birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak will be held at Sindhu Bhavan, Brundhavan Colony, said the organisers. Committee members Gurudeep Singh Sahani, Harmithsingh Gujral, Karam Kour and Veerpreeth Singh were present.
