P Pushpasreevani launches the programme in Kurupam mandal

Kurupam (Vizianagaram): YSR Jala Kala scheme is a boon to small and marginal farmers, said Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpasreevani here on Sunday.

She said the scheme is beneficial to those who cannot afford digging a borewell to ensure water supply to their agriculture fields.

The Deputy Chief Minister launched the programme at Kaspa Gadaba Valasa village in Kurupam mandal. She said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy witnessed the problems faced by farmers during his Padayatra and decided to give possible incentive to them.

The government would conduct a technical survey and later undertake the drilling of borewells, so there will be less number of failures in this method. The government has sanctioned 9 rig vehicles, one each for each constituency in the district. Farmers can avail the free service and produce more grains, she said.
