It was in 2011, which is exactly ten years back where the young and dynamic leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who went on to float his party after breaking away from the Indian National Congress. After facing the bitter embarrassment from Congress, he named the party after his father Dr YSR and farmers, which represents Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.

The party, which contested in the 2014 elections lost to TDP but has kissed an unprecedented victory in 2019 and hoisted its flag in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

On the tenth anniversary of his party, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister and YSR Congress Party Supremo expressed his gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh for their support in all his party's endeavours.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the party took to the Twitter and remembered his father late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. "Floated under the influence and inspiration from Great leader YSR, the YSRCP is entering into 10th year tomorrow. Congratulations to all the family members and the people of the state who have accompanied me on this long journey."
