As schools in Karnataka gear up to reopen from January 1, 2021 for students of classes 10 and 12, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Suresh Kumar visited several government and private undergraduate colleges and government high schools in the city on Wednesday to check if the institutions are adhering to the government guidelines issued to prevent the spread of Covid.

Bengaluru: As schools in Karnataka gear up to reopen from January 1, 2021 for students of classes 10 and 12, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Suresh Kumar visited several government and private undergraduate colleges and government high schools in the city on Wednesday to check if the institutions are adhering to the government guidelines issued to prevent the spread of Covid.

The minister spoke to the headmasters, principals, lecturers and teachers who attended the school and instructed them to take precautions while commencing classes.

"Everyone should wear a mask, use a sanitizer or a soap to wash hands, faculties should come up with Covid test results, wear face mask and face shield and focus on children's physical spacing and give frequent attention to their health and symptoms, and socialise with only a small numbers of children in the classroom," the minister said.

He advised the students to be confident in explaining the importance of Corona's precautionary measures. Explaining the importance of SSLC and secondary PU classes, the minister advised students to clear the exam with high marks.

"There is no shortage of talented students in government schools and colleges. A large number of talented students came out of government schools in the recent years. Despite odds, many students in government schools have come out with flying colours in exams," Kumar said.

He instructed the school's management to not forget sanitising classrooms and toilets.

"Since several days are already over, lecturers must take action to complete the department-wide curriculum.
