Hyderabad: Brands will have to start afresh to reach out to customers in the wake Covid-19 pandemic which has crippled economic activity across the country and hit consumption levels, a survey by Janrise revealed.
A city-based brand communication firm, Janrise carried out a survey on 'Lockdown & Branding'. The survey revealed that reaching out to customers will be top priority for brands post the lifting of the lockdown.
"Even as their revenues dropped due to Covid-19 crisis, companies are keen on wooing back consumers by spending heavily on brand communication and publicity.
Companies have no plans to reduce marketing and advertising budgets. Instead, they want to increase their budgets," said Suman Gadde, Director, Janrise.
Nearly 42.4 per cent of respondents said that they would shop first for clothes, toys and other essentials for children. Even as 53.8 per cent respondents stated hanging out with friends as their first activity, only nine per cent of them wanted to shop for beauty & wellness products.
