Gold and Silver rates today, 30 September: Gold rates on Wednesday edged higher from Tuesday's session. On MCX, the gold rates have climbed by Rs. 540 to Rs. 51,700 while the silver also rallied by Rs. 2700 to Rs. 60,700. The gold rates have increased inline with global markets where the investors eyed to catch up the profits amid US stimulus bill. Gold jewellery prices vary across India, the second-largest consumer of the metal, due to excise duty, state taxes, and making charges. Here are the yellow metal prices at different cities.
In Delhi, the price of 22-carat gold jumped up by Rs. 550 to Rs. 48,900 per 10 gm with and that of 24 carat gold is jumped by Rs. 610 to Rs. 53,350. In Chennai, the gold rate was at Rs 48,160 with an hike of Rs. 460 per ten gram of 22 carat gold and that of 24 carat is at Rs. 52,530 with a surge of Rs. 490.
The gold rates in Kolkata has increased by Rs. 640 to Rs 49,500 per 10 gram of 22 carat and the rate of ten grams of 24 carat is at Rs. 52,410 with hike of Rs. 850. In Mumbai, the gold rates have been at Rs. 49,000 and Rs. 50,000 per ten grams of 22 carat and 24 carat respectively with an hike of Rs. 750.
