Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced the constitution of the COVID-19 economic response task force to tackle the financial woes arising due to the ongoing coronavirus spread. The COVID-19 financial task force that will look after the economic challenges that will emerge due to coronavirus will be headed by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

According to the announcement made by Prime Minister Modi, the task force will remain in regular touch with all stakeholders and obtain regular feedback from them and make decisions accordingly.

Besides, he also urged citizens to follow 'Janta Curfew' on March 22, 2020, from 7 am to 9 pm. With this, the Prime Minister urged all associations to raise awareness about the 'Janata Curfew'. The curfew will be like a testing time for India, to see how well the nation is prepared to fight against coronavirus.

He said that people on March 22 at 5 pm should stand near their doors or balcony to recognise and appreciate the efforts of the servicemen like delivery boys by clapping or in any other way. A siren will be played out to signal the beginning of the initiative.

Prime Minister announced these measures while addressing the nation on measures being taken by the government to combat the disease.
