Now Railway Passengers Get SMS Alert For Delayed Trains

Now railway passengers need not wait for hours for their trains at the platform. Indian Railways, to make passengers' journey smooth and comfortable, has declared that the passengers will now get real-time updates about their train.

Because of winter season train and flight services are likely to get delayed most of the times. This happens mainly due to fog, flights and train services are delayed in India. So, the Indian Railways will be notifying their passengers in case their trains are running late through SMSes. Passengers will soon be sent SMS alerts on their phones in case trains are delayed by more than an hour. This service updates the travellers on everything from travel status of trains to the confirmation of berth.

Railway passengers will be benefited with this new SMS alert facility. In case a train is delayed by more than an hour, the SMS alert will be sent to all passengers. Piyush Goyal, Railway Minister, tweeted about this facility. In his tweet, Mr Goyal has also added a video showcasing the features.

Indian Railways is trying its best to provide better facilities to passengers in the winter season.

Check out the latest facilities implemented by the Government:

a) On your mobile, through SMS facility, you will receive train delay information.

b) With this facility, all the details like the location of the train, estimated time of reaching the station will be sent on passengers' mobile number.

c) Amid 11 pm and 7 am Special patrolling teams have been deployed.

d) Trains have been furnished with fog safety devices which give the locomotive pilots audio-visual cues at a signal post, to avoid accidents.

On Saturday, Union minister Piyush Goyal said the government aims to electrify the railways in ongoing phases. "The entire railway network in India would be electrified in a phased manner making it environment-friendly," the minister said.
