Petrol and diesel prices on Monday have surged after 84 days.

Petrol and diesel prices on 08 June 2020: Petrol and diesel prices on Monday have surged after 84 days. As said earlier, the prices would increase in the first week of June, the fuel prices went up amid the decision taken by state-run oil marketing companies. On the other hand, following the centre's decision to hike VAT and Cess on fuel rates, the state governments too hiked the taxes to generate the revenue lost during the lockdown imposed over novel coronavirus outbreak.

Petrol and diesel prices in the national capital of Delhi have witnessed a hike of 60 paise to Rs 72.46 per litre and diesel prices have also hiked by 60 paise at Rs.70.59. The situation is similar in Mumbai with petrol prices being hiked at 58 paise to 79.49 and the diesel prices remained at Rs.69.37 with a rise of 58 paise.

In Hyderabad, petrol is now sold at ₹75.22 with 62 paise hike and diesel at ₹69.00 with a hike of 58 paise and in Chennai, petrol price per litre hiked by 45 paise, which will now cost ₹76,60 per litre whereas diesel is priced at ₹69.25 per litre with hike of 44 paise.

The petrol and diesel prices mentioned above are due at 8 in the morning and petroleum companies revise the petrol and diesel prices on the basis of crude oil prices in the international market. Against this backdrop, prices are subjected to change regularly.
