Hyderabad: City-based Venkata Praneeth Technologies, a startup promoted by realty co Praneeth Group, on Thursday announced the launch of its cab-hailing services in the city under Prydo brand.
Unlike established players like Ola and Uber, Prydo offers surge-free cab services. It also charges less commission from drivers.
The startup said it already on-boarded 14,000 driver-partners and commercial services will kick off on September 29.
"Safety, security and the conveyance of riders and welfare of driver-partners are our top-most priorities.
We have integrated Prydo app with Telangana government's Hawk-Eye application to ensure the safety of riders," said Narendra Kamaraju, Founder & Managing Director, Prydo.
Pointing out that cab-hailing segment offers huge growth potential, he says Prydo is aiming at over one million rides in the next three months.
Prydo mobile application has been made available in Android Play Store and iOS App Store from Thursday onwards. "Our USP is to offer surge-free rides for customers.
We also empower the driver-partners with welfare measures. Our services will be available in three categories – hatchback, sedan and SUV," Narendra Kumar explained.
On expansion to other cities, he said plans were afoot to launch Prydo services in New Delhi and Bengaluru in next six months.
"Our aim is to take our cab-hailing service to all metro cities by end of FY20. We will invest Rs 100 crore on this venture in next one year," he said.
Prydo will charge commission in the range of 0-10 per cent from driver-partners. But the commission depends on the business that that driver partners do.
