3 arrested in Hotel Fire mishap case

Vijayawada: Governorpet police arrested three staff of the hotel Swarna palace in connection with the fire accident, which claimed 10 lives of Covid patients on Sunday morning in Vijayawada. The police registered a case on the hotel management with the death of 10 covid patients, who were housed for the Covid treatment and quarantine. The hotel management did not take the NOC from the fire department and not following the fire safety norms required for the hospital. About 30 Covid patients and 13 member staff of the hotel and Dr Ramesh hospital were present at the time of mishap. After conducting the probe the police on Monday arrested Chief operating officer Kodali Rajagopala Rao, General Manager Kurapati Sudarshan and Dr Ramesh hospitals Covid care centre co ordination Manager P Venkatesh.
